ABOUT Ido
After once telling his teacher he’d never perform—not even for money—Ido Gal has spent the rest of his life proving himself spectacularly wrong. An Israeli-American immigrant, Ido moved to the U.S. at age four and first discovered the power of storytelling in a fourth-grade playground production of the Scottish play. It became his way of connecting, adapting, and making sense of a new culture.
Ido earned a dual degree in Acting and Economics from the University of Southern California and became union-eligible right out of school with the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company. His screen work includes the indie Jewish thriller Ivver and One Star, directed by A. Laura James. On stage, he’s performed Off-Broadway and regionally, with recent credits including Shakespeare with The Curtain and new plays at Columbia Stages, The Chain, and Walk Up Theatre Collective.
As a voice actor, he’s voiced national campaigns for Audible, Amazon, and Cheetos, including a recurring role on Highlights Mystery Theater (Audible Studios). Across mediums, he brings boyish charm, neurotic brilliance, and a simmering edge—with an unmistakable Jewish wink.
On the producing side, Ido has worked across both commercial and non-profit theater, co-producing Dead Outlaw (7 Tony nominations) and The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window (2 Tony nominations), and serving as Associate Producer of Tectonic Theater Project’s Here There Are Blueberries, a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
When not acting or producing, he’s likely rotating through instruments, plotting his next European escape, or cheering a little too hard for the Golden State Warriors.
